Ingredients
- Spaghetti (400g)
- Mushrooms (300g)
- 1 medium Onion (150g)
- 3 cloves Garlic (15g)
- Tomato Passata (500g)
- Olive Oil (2 tbsp)
- Salt (1 tsp)
- Black Pepper (½ tsp)
- Basil (1 tbsp)
Method
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and start to brown.
- Pour in the tomato passata, and season with salt, pepper, and basil.
- Add the spaghetti and enough water to cover the pasta.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the spaghetti is cooked and the sauce has thickened.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
